Mi 97.5

WRSB 97.5 and 1590 AM, launching 10/16, will be Rochester’s first and only commercial radio station completely dedicated to Rochester’s sizable and growing Latino community.  “Mi 97.5” (English: My 97.5) is programmed by veteran local broadcaster William Santiago to meet the demands of the Rochester, NY Puerto Rican-dominant Latino Community.

Our programming focuses on musical entertainment to attract a broad audience. We cater to the younger listener as well as the older listener with music, news, weather, and community-focused features.

Our format falls into the Tropical Spanish category nationally. We feature artists like Jenifer Lopez, Marc Antony, and Ricky Martin along with classic Salsa music.

Monroe County has a vibrant, and unique Hispanic community. In 1970, the community numbered 5,792 and as of the 2010 census, the community is now 54,005 – a 38% increase from 2000. With that continued growth rate, Rochester’s Hispanic community could be close to 75,000 by the year 2020.

Rochester’s Hispanic community is unique in that most members are of Puerto Rican descent (72%). And, compared to other demographics, the Hispanic community is much younger.

THE HISPANIC RADIO AUDIENCE

Radio Latino Música listeners are the most loyal of all radio audiences.  98% of this population tunes in each week. And since 2011, the weekly Hispanic Radio Audience has grown 11% (from 36.5 million to 42.4 million).

Radio is the number one way to connect with the Hispanic audience. Hispanics spend the most time with Radio than with other media – nearly 6 hours more per week.  Heavy Radio users are a highly-qualified audience 73% are employed full-time with an average yearly income of $60,500.

Hispanics are now the number one minority in the United States and Rochester, N.Y. will be reflective of that in the near future. Constituting 7.9% of Monroe County in 2010, the Hispanic community is a clearly defined and unique community to serve. Compared to other radio demographics, the Hispanic community is much younger.

WOKR 1310 offers News, Talk, and local information for Canandaigua, Victor, Pittsford, Honeoye Falls, Farmington, and all points in-between.  These areas are some of the most affluent zip codes in the state of New York and represent the fastest growing areas of the state as well.

WOKR’s provides Main-Street Conservative News and Talk information throughout the weekdays with a focus on entrepreneurship, business, and lifestyles on the weekend. We differentiate our programming Rochester’s other talk radio outlets in keeping our programming moderately right of center with locally-hosted information programming around lifestyle, community events, and entrepreneurship.

The key to our success and yours as a potential advertiser is through our local programming connections. We carry High School Sports championships live on the air and provide coverage of local rivalries.  Parents, business owners, and other passionate community leaders are our target audience.  Many local business owners produce and air their own shows on WOKR.

WOKR features a News/Talk radio format with tier-1 radio personalities. While News/Talk traditionally focuses on a 60% male audience, our programming selections have been sough to balance out the gender and age demographic.  News/Talk listeners are some of most affluent and engaged radio listeners.
